    DENNIS PHILLIPS - Talks to PokerMaps.com "about his "Love For Home Poker"

    Back in 2008 Dennis Phillips was a pretty normal guy. Working as an account manager for a local trucking company in St. Louis, Missouri, he never knew how much life would change from the moment he set foot into the local Harrahs casino. From a $200 satellite, he won his seat to the World Series of Poker Main Event, and eventually earned his seat among the inaugural November Nine group. Even though he fell short in his quest for WSOP gold when the eventual World Champion, Peter Eastgate, picked off one of his bluffs with bottom set, Dennis followed up his very impressive 3rd place WSOP finish, with a 45th place finish the following year, and weaved his way through an elite field in the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship for a 3rd place finish, and knocking out such notables as Jesper Hougaard, Alan Cunningham, and Eli Elezra, and poker legend Doyle Brunson along the way, before succumbing to imminent champion Annie Duke. With tournament winnings in excess of $5 million, and hours of television coverage to back up his play, it is clear that Dennis Phillips is not a novice to the world of poker.

    Full Tilt Updates: Alderney, Indictments, and GBT

    The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) has unveiled a third-party review of their revocation of Full Tilt Pokers operating license. Commissioned in December 2011, this report was designed to provide transparency in what some saw as a controversial process. In order to address outside concerns, the group brought in Peter Dean, a former Chairman of the British Gambling Commission.

    The AGCC would like to thank Peter Dean for his detailed and thorough report, said Andr Wilsenach, the groups executive director. We believed it was important, given the sensitivities surrounding the revocation of Full Tilt Pokers licenses that an independent review should be carried out into the way in which the AGCC conducted itself throughout this process, and we are grateful that this has now been completed.... read more
